must是情态动词，后面跟动词go，不能跟介词to。

也就是说，to是多余的。

所以改用“have to go”这个固定搭配，意思是“必须去”。

把这句话翻译成中文来看，我父亲喜欢读书。读书，就是文中read books。从中文来看，likes是动词，读书是名词，所以应该把read 改成reading books。这样的话，reading books就变成了一个名词。
再举个例子：my father likes watching TV，我父亲喜欢看电视。同样，在这句话中，likes是动词喜欢的意思，虽然watch本身是个动词，但是看电视是一个名词，所以要把watch改成watching，使它名词化。
